Website designs for boutiques and garment shops

Clothes are bought with the eyes. A boutique website works like a lookbook on the customer's phone: new collections, the stitching services you offer, prices or price ranges, and a WhatsApp button so the customer can ask about a piece she liked.

What a boutique website needs

  1. Collections catalogue

Suits, lehengas, sarees, kurtis, kidswear or menswear, each with photos, fabric and a price range. "Ask for price" works for one-off designer pieces.

  2. Stitching and alteration

If you stitch, list what you make, the usual time it takes and the price range. Many boutiques earn more from stitching than from ready stock.

  3. Enquire about this piece

A WhatsApp button next to every product, with the product name already typed in the message.

  4. Sizes, fittings and trial

Size chart, whether trial is possible and how alterations work.

  5. Exchange and return policy

Clear in writing, including sale items. It prevents most arguments.

  6. Store location and timings

Address with a landmark, map link and timings, including festival-season late hours.

Tips before you go live

  • Photograph clothes on a person or a hanger in daylight against a plain wall. Consistent photos make a small shop look like a brand.
  • If you sell and take payment online, the Consumer Protection (E-commerce) Rules, 2020 ask sellers to show return, refund and grievance details. Keep them on a page linked from every product.
  • Do not use designer or brand names you do not have permission to use. Describe the style instead ("Anarkali with mirror work").

Questions

Can customers buy and pay on the website?

The basic design takes enquiries on WhatsApp, which suits one-off and made-to-measure pieces. A full shop with payment can be added later.

Can I add new arrivals myself?

Yes. On Blogger you add a photo and a line of text, and it appears in the new arrivals section.

Can the site be in Hindi or Punjabi?

Yes. A second language can be added with a switch at the top.

Which platform is the website made for?

Every design is made for Blogger only, Google’s free website platform. It is not for WordPress, Wix or any other platform. You need a free Google account and a Blogger blog (we can set it up with you). There is no hosting bill, you can change text, prices and photos yourself from the Blogger dashboard, and your own domain name can be connected to it.
