Website designs for restaurants and dhabas

People pick where to eat on their phone, often while already on the road. A restaurant website with the full menu, prices, photos and a one-tap call or WhatsApp order turns that search into a table or a takeaway, without depending only on delivery apps that keep a share of every bill.

What a restaurant website needs

  1. The full menu, with prices

Grouped the way people order: starters, main course, breads, rice, thalis, drinks, desserts. Mark veg and non-veg clearly and say whether prices include GST.

  2. Direct orders on WhatsApp

A takeaway or delivery button that opens WhatsApp with your number filled in. Orders that come directly are orders you do not pay app commission on.

  3. Table booking for groups

A short form for date, time and number of people. Families booking for birthdays and office groups use it the most.

  4. Timings, kitchen closing time and location

Opening hours, the last order time, a map link, parking, and for highway dhabas the distance from the nearest town or toll.

  5. Photos of real dishes

Your own photos of your best dishes in good light. Stock photos of food set wrong expectations.

  6. Licence and hygiene details

Your FSSAI licence or registration number, and a line about your kitchen, water and oil. Food businesses must show the FSSAI number at the premises; on the website it builds trust.

Tips before you go live

  • Keep the menu as text, not a photo of the printed menu. Text loads faster, can be read on small phones and can be found by Google when someone searches a dish name.
  • Update prices on the website the same day you change the printed menu. A wrong price on the website is the most common complaint.
  • Add your restaurant to Google Business Profile with the same name, phone and timings, and link to the website from there.

Questions

Can customers order food online from the website?

Yes, through a WhatsApp order button: the customer sends the order, you confirm the total and time. A full online payment cart can be added later if you need it.

Can the menu have tabs for veg and non-veg or for lunch and dinner?

Yes. One of the restaurant designs has a tabbed menu; you choose the tab names.

Can I show a daily special?

Yes. A small "today's special" box near the top can be changed from the Blogger dashboard in a minute.

Which platform is the website made for?

Every design is made for Blogger only, Google’s free website platform. It is not for WordPress, Wix or any other platform. You need a free Google account and a Blogger blog (we can set it up with you). There is no hosting bill, you can change text, prices and photos yourself from the Blogger dashboard, and your own domain name can be connected to it.
