Website designs for medical stores and pharmacies

Families need their chemist at odd hours: late at night, on Sundays, when an elderly parent runs out of medicine. A calm pharmacy website shows when you are open, where you deliver and how to send a prescription, all within the rules for selling medicines.

What a medical store website needs

  1. Timings, including night and Sunday

The single most important line. Say clearly if you are open 24 hours.

  2. Send a prescription on WhatsApp

Customers send a photo of the prescription; you reply with availability and the bill.

  3. Home delivery area

Colonies you cover, the time it usually takes and any minimum order.

  4. Health and wellness products

Over-the-counter items, baby care, diabetic care, devices like BP monitors and glucometers.

  5. Licence and pharmacist details

Drug licence numbers and the name of the registered pharmacist, as shown in the shop.

  6. Location and parking

With a map link. Many visits are urgent.

Tips before you go live

  • Prescription medicines may be sold only against a valid prescription. Never put an "order now" button on a prescription medicine and do not show discounts that push people to buy medicines.
  • Do not publish claims that a product cures a disease. The Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 forbids advertisements for many conditions.
  • Online sale of medicines in India is still awaiting final rules. Keep the website to information, timings and WhatsApp contact with your licensed shop, and check the current rules with your drugs inspector.

Questions

Can customers order medicines online from the website?

They can send a prescription and a list on WhatsApp to your licensed shop, which then confirms and delivers as you already do. The website itself does not sell medicines.

Can I show product prices?

For health and wellness products, yes. For prescription medicines, it is better to confirm the price after checking the prescription.

Is there a place for a pharmacist's name?

Yes. The design has a short "about the pharmacy" section with licence numbers and the registered pharmacist's name.

Which platform is the website made for?

Every design is made for Blogger only, Google’s free website platform. It is not for WordPress, Wix or any other platform. You need a free Google account and a Blogger blog (we can set it up with you). There is no hosting bill, you can change text, prices and photos yourself from the Blogger dashboard, and your own domain name can be connected to it.
